The Job Education & Training (JET) program is a compact, fast-paced program designed to help low-income parents be able to complete a GED, prepare for specific job training, and be successful in entry-level jobs. JET courses have been designed with the current job market in mind, allowing students to improve basic skills and explore occupational areas. The JET program can also pay for short-term training for qualified participants in medical, office, or mechanical trades certificate programs. Applicants must: be parents with financial responsibility for a child under 18; earn less than 200% of state poverty level; and want to get a job, keep a job, get a better job, or participate in short -term training. Applicant should plan to take a pre-and post-test, and agree to be contacted by career coordinator once a month.

Outreach

We offer outreach classes in basic skills, English as a Second Language, and GED preparation a number of communities throughout Region Six, a 22,000 square mile area in Southeast Idaho. The outreach coordinator is Margaret Collins. Margaret also coordinates tutoring services in the county jails and provides GED testing in outreach locations.
