APPRENTICESHIP / TRAINING
Apprenticeship Training is a combination of hands-on work experience and night-time class instruction. Students who wish to enter either the Electrical, Plumbing, or HVAC Apprenticeship Programs typically work a regular 40-hour work week, as an apprentice, and then attend evening classes two nights a week at EITC.
There are three requirements for a person to receive a Journeyman License: first, work 8000 hours as an apprentice (2000/yr for 4 years). Second, attend and pass all four years of the Apprenticeship Classes (144 hours/yr). Third, pass the State Journeyman's Exam.
It is the responsibility of the student to find their own employment. The employer will then fill out the appropriate paperwork for the student to receive an Apprenticeship License. The apprentice is responsible for registering at EITC for the night classes. Please note: it is not required that students have an apprenticeship card or that they be working to attend EITC apprenticeship courses.
EITC offers Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC Apprenticeship Courses.
