Import Thomson Testbanks

If your Thomson textbook came with a CD, depending on the version of ExamView, you may be able to export the Testbank and import it into the Blackboard Pool Manager.

Export the Testbank:

  1. Insert the Thomson CD.
  2. Click Testbank. (If this is the first time, you will be taken to the ExamView Setup program. Follow the directions. After the setup has finished, click Testbank again.)
  3. You may receive a message to register the program. You do not have to register the program. Check the box Do not show this again.
  4. The ExamView Startup box will appear.
  5. Choose Create a new test using the QuickTest Wizard.
  6. Click OK.

More Information

Question: Why would I want to go through this many steps?
Answer:   Afterwards the tests are automated by Blackboard saving the paper and the time it takes to grade them and record the grades.

Question: What is the most efficient way to do this?
Answer:   The steps above go through the entire sequence of creating one test. Test the process on one test first. Then repeat the Export as many times as necessary, repeat the Import, repeat making the test, and then repeat making the tests available.

Question: Where can I get more information on tests?
Answer:   Go to the Assessments document.

Question: How do I grade the short answer questions?
Answer:   From the Gradebook, access the student's test results by clicking on the Exclamation Point in the spreadsheet view. This will show you the student's individual answers. Add the points received in the Points field and click Submit.
