DO NOT REMOVE THE PLASTIC SHRINK WRAP FROM TEXTBOOKS
Textbooks with wrap removed will be treated as a used book and may not be refundable.
Textbooks with a disk package that has been opened will also be treated as a used book and may not be refundable.
New books may be returned in NEW condition. Any new book with torn or tattered covers or pages will not be returnable. New books with any writing in them, including your name, will not be returnable. Check through all books for any manufacturing defects such as poor bindings or missing pages. Defective books will be replaced only during the first five weeks of the semester.
All refunds will be at EITC Bookstore staff's discretion based on this policy.
Wherever you buy your books, when the sale is complete you own the book. The EITC bookstore has no obligation to buy your books back when the term is complete. However, if we can resell the book then everyone wins: you get some money back and the next student pays less for used book instead of a new one. We will buy used books from you during finals week and the week following, regardless of where you bought the book, under certain conditions. If the book is sold as a bundle with worksheets and other materials, we generally cannot buy the book. If the instructor has notified the bookstore that the same book and same edition will be used during the next term, we may buy the book for up to 50% of the EITC retail price, depending on the book’s condition. The bookstore manager is the sole judge in determining condition and pricing of the book. If there is no EITC demand for the book, we might still be able to buy a limited number of books back, typically at a greatly reduced price, and sell it to a wholesale book company. At times we might have a wholesale book buyer on campus during finals week with whom you can directly work. Book resellers commonly offer no more than 0-20% of retail value for books and typically buy only a few books of each type.
