MAJOR FUNCTION:

Teaches Business Technologies courses including all components of Business Technologies such
as Leadership, Accounting, Small Business Management, Financial Management,
Entrepreneurship, and Business Presentations; teaches an average of fifteen credit hours per
semester; teaches classes composed of students from diverse cultural, ethnic, and linguistic
backgrounds; selects, evaluates, and develops instructional materials and builds the Business
Technologies curriculum; keeps student attendance records; assists students in setting goals
based on their proficiency and skills; provides advising services; makes appropriate referral;
keeps confidences and trusts; collects and provides information on the Business Technologies
profession; develops and promotes relationships with government, the Business Technologies
industry, and other appropriate agencies in regard to innovations, updated technologies, career
education/training methods and materials, and important information sources; conducts
evaluations of student progress in relation to education goals and outcomes; keeps accurate
and up-to-date records on students’ progress; assists students with placement in and monitors
on-the-job training experiences; completes and submits required reports on time; ensures
compliance with all appropriate policies and procedures concerning or affecting the Business
Technologies program; maintains classrooms, laboratories, and equipment in a safe, clean, and
orderly manner; orders and maintains consumable supplies; conducts inventories and controls
hand tools; meets at least semi-annually with industry advisory council; promotes IETC and the
Business Technologies program through media relations and community presentations; recruits
students; maintains a positive, helpful, constructive attitude and work relationships with
supervisor, instructional staff, students, and the community.
