Diesel Technology Instructor

Eastern Idaho Technical College is accepting applications for a Diesel Technology Instructor. This is a full-time, 9-month position with generous benefits.

| Job Description: |
Duties: select, evaluate, develop, and teach curriculum for Diesel Technology; assist students in accomplishing skills and in setting and achieving technical and academic goals; provide hands-on demonstrations and instruction of diesel technology testing and repair equipment and materials; keep accurate records on student progress; complete and submit reports on time.

Minimum Qualifications:
|
Demonstrated Excellence in: teaching diverse students; written and verbal communication skills; interpersonal relation skills. Industrial Experience: of at least eight years, hands-on employment in diesel service with minimum of four years as a diesel technician; additional four years as a technician or supervisor. Ability to: effectively motivate students to learn. Education: must have at least two years post-secondary education in diesel technology or equivalent industry training. Certification: must be ASE Certified Master Truck Technician in all areas or be able to pass ASE certification tests during the first six months.

| Desired Qualifications: |
Experience: working in post-secondary education environment; organizing and prioritizing division workload. Knowledge of: Idaho post-secondary education policies and procedures.

Requirements for Certifications |
The successful candidate will be required to obtain a Vocational/Technical Teacher’s Certification or proper teaching credential endorsement from the State Board of Education and maintain this State Certification during his or her employment at Eastern Idaho Technical College.
