EILNet is a consortium of strong, independent libraries that seeks to achieve a greater strength and balance of service to community and staff through: collaborative acquisition of resources, increased buying power for technology, and cooperative development of service and expertise.
EILNet was created in 1998 by a group of libraries in Southeastern Idaho to address the need for collaboration with other libraries to better serve their library communities.
Using a web-based union catalog, EILNet provides fast, reliable access to collections of all participating libraries.Benefits of consortium membership include:
- Union Catalog and Z39.50 technology Expedited Interlibrary Loan Regular courier service to move materials and media within the consortium Increased buying poser of software and hardware Technical support and training
- An interactive forum to strengthen unity among EILNet members.

EILNet has grown from eight original members to twenty-four current members. These members include public libraries, school libraries, district libraries, and one technical college library. EILNet presently serves a population of 76,437.
